Overheard a homeowner in Phoenix say they chose vinyl plank because they thought carpet was 'too hard to keep clean for pets'.
It made me realize we need to do a better job explaining how modern stain-resistant fibers and proper padding can actually make carpet a great, comfortable choice for pet owners, so has anyone else had this conversation and what specific points do you make?

Exactly, that's the real issue. Even the best carpet just holds onto everything at a deep level, while hard floors let you get to the source.

That line about modern stain resistant fibers misses the point for me. The padding might help with comfort, but it's a trap for pet hair and smells no matter what the carpet is made of. Vinyl plank is just a smarter choice because you can actually clean it all the way down. Once something soaks into carpet, it's never really gone.

Listen to wright.taylor, they get it. I mean, you can talk about stain proof carpet all day but you're still gonna smell that one accident from six months ago. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather mop a floor than rent a carpet cleaner every other week.
