Tack strip over doorway gaps was ruining my seams on long runs

I was fighting with seams popping open near doorways for months until I tried laying the tack strip 1/2 inch back from the jamb instead of flush, and now my welds actually hold tight on those tricky transition spots instead of pulling apart after a week. Anyone else run into this with metal door thresholds?

Man oh man, that's exactly what I was dealing with! I had the same headache with seams splitting right at the metal threshold on a job last spring. I tried everything and finally pulled the tack strip back about the same distance you did, and it made a world of difference. Now those welds actually stay put instead of popping loose after a few days of foot traffic. It's such a simple fix but it totally saved me from having to go back and redo those spots.
