Update: the golf ball trick saved my stretched Berber in a rental down in Akron
Had a 12 foot run of Berber pulling loose along a doorway and I couldn't get the knee kicker to grab it right, so I rolled a golf ball under the edge to find the slack and worked from there. Ended up with a clean seam on the first pass, has anyone else used a ball to chase wrinkles instead of just stretching blind?
Golf ball works for finding slack, sure, but it doesn't stretch anything. The ball just rolls to the loose spot, the kicker or stretcher still has to pull the carpet. So it's more of a guide than the actual fix. Still a smart way to chase wrinkles though.
