That $40 rice cooker was a trap, I should've known better
Bought one of those fancy fuzzy logic rice cookers last month for 40 bucks at a flea market in Columbus. Figured it was a steal, but the thing burns every single batch unless I babysit it like a toddler. My 12 dollar thrift store model from 2019 never failed me, always fluffy, zero fuss. Now I'm back to using the old one and the fancy one is sitting in my closet collecting dust. Anyone else get burned by a 'deal' on kitchen gear that was worse than what you already had? What's your go-to cheap rice method that actually works?
