Spent $400 on a rotary brush kit that barely fit a standard 8x8 flue
Anyone else buy one of those expensive chain-driven systems and end up wrestling with it for an hour before switching back to a basic hand brush, or am I just unlucky with my setup?

Bought a fancy one too. My flue laughed at my $400 mistake.

Wait, your flue laughed at it? Like made a noise or just completely failed to work? Did it at least do anything before it died?

Nah, I get why you'd say that, but the cheap ones are literal garbage. Got a Levoit for $80 two years ago and it's still going strong, no squeaks, no funny smells. My buddy's $20 special from Target died after three months and shot dust back into the room. You gotta look at the filter type and the CADR rating, not just the price tag. A good one pays for itself in peace of mind, especially if you've got pets or live near a busy road.
