Tried a new inspection camera versus my old mirror on a flue in a 1920s house

The mirror just showed a dark blur, but the $250 camera I borrowed clearly showed a cracked tile liner about 8 feet up. Has anyone else switched to a camera and found stuff you'd have totally missed before?

Yeah, that dark blur with a mirror is exactly why I switched. You just can't trust a reflection in a tight, dark space. Seeing the actual crack on a screen changes everything.

My old mirror trick missed a huge gap in a 1950s chimney crown. The camera showed it clear as day, just like @the_lucas said about old tools missing scary stuff. It's a total game changer for finding those hidden problems.
