My neighbor said I'd regret not sealing the driveway myself
He told me to save $300 and do it myself last fall, but now there's frost heave cracks everywhere and I'm looking at a full repave next spring - anyone have a decent paver they trust on the west side?

Oh man, that's rough. DIY sealing is always a gamble with our winters.

DIY sealing" with our winters? Yikes, that's a hard lesson.

Your neighbor probably meant well but that's terrible advice for this climate... I learned the hard way too, watched my own hand-sealed driveway bubble up and crack apart after one freeze-thaw cycle. The prep work is everything - you have to clean out every tiny crack, use the right filler, and time it perfectly when the temp won't drop overnight. My driveway ended up looking like a patchwork quilt and I had to pay double to get it ground down and repaved properly. Sometimes saving a few bucks upfront just costs you way more later, especially with concrete work around here.
