Spent $340 on a snow blower and it saved my back on West 117th but man it was close
Honestly I finally pulled the trigger on a used two stage snow blower last fall for $340 off a guy in Parma. I drive a truck so I am gone a lot and my wife was stuck shoveling our driveway near West 117th by herself every storm and it was killing her. First big snow in January it fired right up and cleared the whole thing in like 20 minutes, I was patting myself on the back hard. Then in February the auger belt snapped in the middle of a 10 inch dump and I stood there like an idiot. Cost me $28 for a new belt and about an hour watching a YouTube video in my kitchen to figure out the tensioner. Turns out the guy never greased the auger shaft and it was seizing up, so another $15 for grease and some swearing later it runs fine. Now I am wondering if I should have just bought new for $700 with a warranty instead of rolling the dice on a used one. Anyone else got a used snow blower story that went sideways or am I the only one gambling on Marketplace junk?
