Found out my city's bus fleet goes electric next year, but the grid plan is the real shocker

I was reading the municipal climate report for Portland last night and saw that our new electric buses will add 12 megawatts of demand by 2026. Turns out they're pairing the depot with a solar canopy and battery storage, but the payback period is 14 years. Has anyone else looked into how their local transit handles the charging load on old infrastructure?
