The $40 rain barrel rebate nobody at my block party had heard of
Got a letter from the city last month saying I could get $40 back on a rain barrel, and I figured it was junk mail. Called the number anyway and it was real. Turns out our water district has had this rebate going for three years and not one neighbor on my street knew about it. I asked around at the block party and 12 people said they'd never gotten a flyer. So the barrels are cheap and the money's just sitting there. Has anyone else found out about a local rebate like this the hard way?

Three years of free money and the city's big plan to tell people was a letter you almost threw away. Real sneaky of them. Guess the water district's marketing budget is one stamp.
