Had a week where every pour over tasted like mud until Wednesday, then a $12 V60 saved my sanity

My Tuesday cup from a new local roaster in Portland was so bitter I almost threw it out, but Wednesday I switched to a finer grind and let the water sit 30 seconds before pouring, and it was the best coffee I've had in months, so is it the beans, the gear, or just my mood that day and has anyone else hit a streak like that where nothing works then suddenly everything clicks?

Ever notice how once something finally works, you can't even remember what you were doing wrong before? It's like the universe flips a switch and suddenly every rando tip you tried makes sense. Probably a mix of all three, but the mood thing does way more than people give it credit for.
