My drip coffee went from bitter and flat to sweet in 3 weeks just by changing one thing
I used to buy pre-ground coffee from the grocery store in Seattle and my drip pot always came out bitter no matter what I did. About 3 weeks ago a guy at a local roaster on Capitol Hill asked what kind of grinder I had, and I said none, I just buy it ground. He told me to get a cheap burr grinder for $40 and grind right before brewing. The first cup I made after that was so much sweeter and had no burnt aftertaste at all, same beans and same drip machine. Now I'm wondering if I should also mess with my water or if the grinder was really the whole fix, any of you notice a jump like that?
