That $200 espresso machine I thought was a steal

Bought a refurbished espresso machine off eBay for $200 that looked perfect in the photos. After 3 months the pump died and the seller vanished. Anyone else get burned by refurbished gear that wasn't actually tested?

Thought it was a steal" - oh yeah, been there. Got a "refurbished" vacuum once for half price. Worked great for a month then started smoking. Seller was gone too. These "refurbished" deals are usually just someone wiping dust off a broken item and calling it good. No real testing happens. Learned my lesson the hard way. Now I only buy new or from stores with actual return policies.

@noah880 exactly, most "refurbished" is just a fancy word for someone else's trash they didn't even bother to clean.
