Had to choose between a Silver Age Spider-Man and a modern variant cover
I was at a small comic show last weekend and found a beat-up copy of Amazing Spider-Man #50 for $40 and a shiny new Artgerm variant of a recent issue for the same price. I went with the Silver Age book because I figured the history mattered more even with the creases. What would you have picked if you had to choose between a classic with wear and a perfect modern copy?

Buddy of mine grabbed a torn ASM #1 for cheap over a mint copy of something modern and never looked back.

Ngl my buddy actually did something similar. He found a beat-up copy of Fantastic Four #5 at a garage sale, cover almost torn off, and paid like 15 bucks for it instead of a clean copy of some 90s X-Men that was going for 50. Everyone told him he was nuts but he just grinned and said "watch." Six months later he sold it at a small con for enough to cover his rent for three months. Guy knew exactly what he was doing.
