Best dive day I had was a 30 minute job paying $1200

Got called to fix a trash grinder at a treatment plant in Tacoma, was in and out before lunch, and the check cleared that afternoon. Has anyone else had a random small job turn into a huge payout?

Ken from Seattle said he got $2k once for unclogging a grease trap that took 15 minutes.

Ken from Seattle's story sounds fake or he got lucky. Most grease trap jobs are nasty, time consuming work that takes hours of scraping, hauling, and cleaning. 15 minutes isn't enough to even get the lid off a properly caked trap, let alone unclog it. $2k for that little time makes no sense unless it was some emergency call out fee with a minimum charge. Real companies charge by the hour plus disposal fees, not random piles of cash for a quick fix.
