Unpopular opinion: Our neighborhood cleanup day was a total mess because of one guy.

Last Saturday, we had a volunteer day to clear the creek behind Maple Street. Everything was going fine until Frank from two blocks over showed up with his own leaf blower and just started blasting everything into the next yard. He ignored three people who asked him to stop, saying, "I know what I'm doing." We spent the next hour cleaning up the extra mess he made. Has anyone else had a volunteer event ruined by someone who wouldn't listen?

Ever think the guy with the leaf blower is just trying to help? I used to, but @jamie130 is right about how it makes more work. That kind of stubbornness just wrecks the whole point of a team.

Frank types are the worst. They turn a simple job into a management problem. It's like they need to be the main character, even at a creek cleanup. Next time, someone should just take the battery out of his blower when he isn't looking. The whole point is to work together, not create more work for everyone else.

Jamie130 saying they turn a simple job into a management problem is so true. It reminds me of when my uncle tried to "help" paint the garage by starting in the middle of a wall with a roller full of paint. We had to smooth out all his weird lines after. Why do people not see how they're just making more work?
