Forgot my pass and the driver was surprisingly chill about it
I left my monthly bus pass at home and thought I was totally screwed. The driver just smiled and let me on anyway, which was a huge relief. When's the last time you got lucky with a transit worker?

Yeah I've started keeping an old expired pass in my wallet as a decoy... just so I can show something while I dig for change. That or I take a photo of my current pass on my phone as a backup. Drivers seem way more willing to cut you slack if you look like you're trying... fumbling with a wallet looks better than just empty hands. Saved me a few times on rainy mornings when I'm half awake.

Man, that's some next-level public transit psychology...

We always focus on the times they have to enforce the rules... but they see the real stress people are under, especially with fares going up. That driver probably knew the exact cost of a day pass versus the hassle they just saved you. It's a small act of quiet rebellion against a system that often forgets people make simple mistakes. Those little moments of grace are what actually keep public transit feeling human.
