I thought the 'bus buddy' app was a total joke until last Tuesday

My regular 7:15 bus was a no show, and I was stuck in the rain. I downloaded that app as a last ditch move. It showed the next bus was actually 8 minutes away on a different route two blocks over. I ran, caught it, and got to work only 10 minutes late. Has anyone else had a public transit app actually save them?

My bus tracker once saved me from a 45 minute wait in the snow, lol.

Remembered my phone was dead when my train got rerouted last month. Had to ask like five different people which platform to switch to, felt like a total tourist in my own city. Ended up on a local that stopped at every single station, took an extra hour.

My old phone died during a three hour train delay once, so I feel for @the_elliot. I was just staring at the wall like a lost kid. These apps are a lifeline when your bus ghosts you. I still think the one I use is held together with digital duct tape, but hey, it got me home before midnight that time.
