Why does nobody warn you that the bus driver knows more about your life than your group chat?
I ride the 7:15 out of Oakland every morning and last week the driver asked me how my kid's ear infection was doing, because he remembered me talking about it six weeks back. I've never said one word to this man besides good morning, and he still knows my stop, my schedule, and now my family's medical history. Do other regulars get the same treatment, or do I just have a weirdly observant driver?
But here's what gets me about your post. You said you never talk to him besides good morning, yet he picked up enough to ask about your kid's ear six weeks later. That means he's been listening the whole time, even when you thought you weren't saying anything. So the real question is what else has he filed away that you don't even remember mentioning? Have you ever tested it, like asked him something only a person who really pays attention would know? Because if he's tracking that much from a few overheard phone calls, I want to know if he does it with everyone or if you're just his favorite. And does it weird you out or do you kind of like having somebody who actually notices you exist at 7:15 in the morning?
