Just realized CRTs weighed over 50 pounds on average
Was reading an old tech article from 1999 about recycling monitors. Found out a standard 17 inch CRT monitor weighed like 55 pounds. Makes me laugh thinking about how we used to haul those things around without thinking twice.

Pretty sure my old 21 inch monitor doubled as a home defense weapon if someone broke in. Had to lift with my legs just to move it six inches. Bet people who complained about carrying those things never skipped leg day.

Completely agree with you @rileyl98, my old CRT monitor was basically a small fridge with a screen. I remember moving it to a LAN party once and my buddy asked if I was bringing the tower or the monitor because he couldn't tell the difference in weight. Honestly, people who whined about carrying those never had to do a deadlift just to set up their gaming station for the night. Ngl, if someone broke in I probably would've just thrown the monitor at them and called it self defense, no questions asked.
