Magnesium float vs. aluminum on a hot day in Memphis
I used to grab whichever float was closest, but after a job last August I gave the magnesium one a real shot. The aluminum float kept sticking to the surface when the sun got brutal, and I was constantly spraying it with release agent just to keep moving. With the magnesium float, it glided way smoother and the cream came up faster, so I finished that 40 yard driveway in maybe 20 fewer minutes. I mean, the aluminum is cheaper and fine for cooler weather, but on a 95 degree day in direct sun, magnesium is just plain better. Anyone else notice a big difference in their finish time with one vs. the other?

Did the aluminum float try to charge you extra rent for sticking around that long?
