One inspector in Tulsa changed my mind about colored concrete
I used to think any color added to a slab was a headache waiting to happen, especially in hot weather. Then last summer a city inspector named Ray watched me panic over a fading batch and just said, stop fighting the mix, work with the sun instead. He showed me how he times his pours for late afternoon and uses a slower set retarder so he can finish without rushing. Watching him pull a clean, even color off a 40 foot driveway made me realize I was fighting the material instead of respecting it. Now I mix my own pigments and test a small patch before every job, no more guessing. Has anyone else had a veteran call them out on a habit they were too stubborn to break?
