Spent $50 on a cheap concrete sealer from Home Depot and it peeled off after 3 months in the Houston heat
Anyone else tried the $12 a gallon stuff and had it bubble up like crazy, or is it worth spending $80 on the good brand next time?

My cousin used that $12 stuff on his patio here in Phoenix and it looked like peeling sunburn inside a month. Honestly though unless you're sealing something you actually walk on does it really matter that much? I've seen people panic over a little concrete peel and the slab's still fine underneath. If it's just a driveway who cares if it looks a bit rough.

For a driveway that's just gonna get tire tracks and oil stains anyway, peeling sealer is more of an eyesore than a real problem. If the concrete isn't crumbling or cracking, a little flaking is just cosmetic. People get worked up over appearance but the slab does its job fine underneath. Is there something about Houston humidity that makes the cheap stuff fail faster or is it mostly the same everywhere?
