Watched a guy float a 40x60 slab in Phoenix with a mag and it looked like glass, so why do guys in my crew still finish with a steel trowel first?
He kept telling me the mag opens the surface so the steel can actually seal it, and I'm starting to think we've been doing it backwards on every pour for the past 6 months.

Switched to mag first after watching a finisher in Tucson do it and our slabs came out way tighter. Let the mag get it flat, then hit it with steel once it sets up and you'll see the difference right away.
