Guy at the laundromat on 5th told me the coin machines are rigged, and now I count quarters
So I'm sitting at the Speed Queen on 5th St two weeks ago waiting on a dry cycle and this older dude next to me starts going off about how the change machine shortchanges people on purpose. He claimed he fed it a $20 bill and got back $18.75 in quarters, and he had the receipt to show it. I laughed at him at the time, but then I actually started counting my own quarters and got $19.50 out of my last $20. Could just be a jam or a worn bill, but now I'm standing there counting coins like a weirdo every single time. Anybody else notice the machines eating a quarter here and there, or is this guy just unlucky?
