Unpopular opinion: the conspiracy about the town pool closing down seems real after what I saw
I grew up in a small town in Ohio, and we had this public pool that was the spot every summer. About 5 years ago, they shut it down saying it was too expensive to fix, like $200,000 in repairs. But then last summer, I drove by and saw construction crews putting in what looks like a private club or something. I asked around and heard the town sold the land to a developer for way less than it was worth. Now there's a fence around it and rumors about a membership fee that's out of reach for most folks. Some people say it's just progress and the town needed the money, but others think there's a deal with the developer to push out lower income families. I'm stuck in the middle, but it feels off. What do you all think? Has anyone seen something like this in their town and was there more to the story?
