Why did my gloss fade so uneven after that Denver appointment

I got a custom gloss back in March at a salon near Capitol Hill and the color looked perfect for like two weeks. Then last month I noticed the roots and the ends were two totally different shades, almost like the product grabbed differently along my hair shaft. My stylist said it might be because I used a clarifying shampoo three times in one week after a gym kick, which I didn't think twice about at the time. Has anyone else seen this patchy fade pattern with glosses, or is my water here just that hard? I'm trying to decide if I should ask for a redo or switch to a demi-permanent next time.

Blame the gym, honestly. I did the same thing after a marathon training block and my gloss looked like a zebra, light at the top and dark at the tips. Clarifying shampoo three times a week will strip anything, and I learned that the hard way when my colorist took one look and asked if I'd been swimming in bleach. Ask for the redo, but also grab a sulfate-free shampoo for your next kick, your hair will thank you.
