Hot take: my $8 label maker outsold my handmade soap at the spring fair
I set up at the Springfield craft fair in March with 60 bars of soap and a cheap label maker, and the labels moved faster than the soap did. People kept asking if I sold custom jar labels, so I started taking orders at $3 a pop and made $140 on labels alone that day. My soap table pulled in $85, which stung a bit after all that curing time. Now I'm wondering if I should lean into labels as the real business and keep soap as the side thing. Has anyone else had a cheap add-on end up beating their main product?
