PSA: website builder vs paying a real designer for my side hustle and the cheap one cost me actual sales
I run a tiny crochet shop out of my garage in Boise and spent about 6 months fighting with a drag and drop builder before I caved and paid a designer $600 to redo it. The builder looked fine to me but my bounce rate was sitting at 74 percent because it loaded slow on phones and the checkout took like 9 clicks. New site loads in under 2 seconds and I made back the $600 in 3 weeks just from people actually finishing checkout. Anyway if you're selling handmade stuff and your site feels clunky, get someone to look at it before you blame your product.
