Reached $1,000 in cookie sales from my home kitchen last month

I started baking decorated cookies part time about 8 months ago just to cover my hobby costs. Last month I tallied up my sales and hit $1,000 for the first time. That number surprised me because I only bake on weekends and use my regular oven. It made me realize I need to look into my state's cottage food laws before I grow any bigger. Has anyone else crossed a small milestone like this and had to switch from hobby to real business mindset?
