Slew bearing gremlins shut me down for a whole shift in Tulsa
Last Tuesday I was on a job near the river and the swing brake started grabbing hard every time I rotated left. Felt like the machine was fighting me, then it stalled out completely with the load hanging at about 40 feet. I had to set the load down with the manual release and call the shop. Turns out the slew ring was dry and a chunk of old grease had jammed the race. Took me 5 hours just to flush it and get going again. Has anyone else had a slew ring fail without any warning noise first?
