Tried meditating in the cab to stay focused, but a pigeon scared me silly.

Ngl, my zen moment turned into a flailing mess when that bird tapped the window.

You know how Jesse mentioned practicing in a real mess? My buddy tried to do his breathing exercises on a packed bus last week. Some guy's grocery bag ripped and oranges rolled everywhere under the seats. He said the whole thing became about not losing his cool while all that chaos was happening. It kinda proved you can find a bit of focus right in the middle of the silly, loud stuff.

Maybe that pigeon was doing you a favor. Getting startled is a perfect chance to practice finding your focus again in a real world mess, not some quiet room. A cab with random bird taps is way better training than any perfect, silent spot. If you only practice calm when it's easy, you never actually learn it.

But what if the real world mess is so loud you can't even start to focus? Honestly, I see your point, but a cab with a bird constantly tapping might just make you more stressed out. Like, if you're already feeling jumpy, that kind of noise isn't helping you learn calm, it's just adding to the trouble. Maybe you need some quiet time first to get the hang of focus before dealing with all that chaos. Trying to practice in total craziness right away is like trying to learn to swim in a stormy ocean.
