Who keeps running a pick without checking the weather first

Was on a job in Cincinnati last Thursday where some guy set up a 90 ton lift and a 30 mph gust rolled his load sideways before he even got it 10 feet off the ground. How hard is it to look at a radar app before you start rigging?

Respectfully, I think you're being a little too hard on the guy. 90 ton lifts usually take a while to set up and weather can change fast even if you checked an hour before. Those gusts can come out of nowhere, especially in Cincinnati where the wind bounces off buildings weird.

Yeah but that setup took like 4 hours. Youre telling me nobody looked at radar once? I live near cinci and we had warning flags up on the river by noon. Those gusts on the ohio are no joke, they sweep through the basin fast. The crane operator shoulda called it when the flags started whipping. That ones on the foreman for pushing it through.
