I finally tried writing a whole scene in one 20 minute sitting and it worked
Last Tuesday I had a scene stuck for 3 days because I kept hopping between it and my outline. I set a timer, closed the outline, and just wrote the scene as messy as it came out, and I had 800 words done before the timer went off. Does anyone else do timed sprints like this, or do you wait for the scene to feel right before you touch it?
Doesn't it feel like the outline is the thing keeping you stuck sometimes? I've been there too, and honestly just letting the scene be bad for 20 minutes beats staring at a perfect plan for 3 days.
