Switched from plotting every scene to just writing the first draft messy

I used to spend like 3 weeks outlining every single chapter before writing a word, but last month I forced myself to just dump 2000 words of a rough scene with no plan. Turned out the messy version had way more energy and I actually finished the whole story in 10 days instead of giving up halfway. Has anyone else found that planning less actually makes your writing better?

Planning everything out first is how I catch plot holes before they waste my time. A messy draft just means more rewriting later to fix all the stuff that doesn't work.

Oh yeah, it's the same with like fixing things around the house or planning a trip... if you don't think ahead you're just making more work for yourself later.
