Thought the 'write drunk, edit sober' advice was just a dumb meme until I tried it with lemonade.
I wrote 500 words after two glasses, left it for a day, and the raw emotional stuff in there actually worked after I cleaned it up. What's a writing tip you thought was nonsense that actually helped?

That "raw emotional stuff" you found is the key. I've seen this same pattern with exercise or even cleaning. The advice to just start moving, no matter how bad, always sounded pointless. But forcing myself to jog for just five minutes often leads to twenty. The first action, even a little messy, builds its own momentum that a clean plan on paper never could.

Totally get that. My five minute jog usually ends with me walking home and ordering a pizza, but hey, at least I started. That first step really is the only one that matters sometimes.

Honestly, I think momentum is overrated. Some days five minutes is all I got and that's fine.
