Shoutout to that $30 password manager I wasted money on

Bought a password manager last year thinking it would fix all my login problems. Paid $30 for a year subscription. Turned out the free version of my browser does the same thing. It even autofills passwords on my phone without extra steps. Now I'm stuck with a tool I barely open. Felt like throwing cash into a hole. Anyone else jump on a security tool that just duplicated what you already had?

Did you actually compare the features before buying it, or did you just assume a paid one would be better? I almost did the same thing last year with a VPN service, until a friend pointed out my browser already had a built-in one. These companies bank on people not checking what they already have.

That $99 price tag on the premium VPN is exactly how they get people. My brother paid for a year of NordVPN before I told him to check if his router already had a free VPN option built into the admin panel. Did you ever actually run a speed test comparing your free browser VPN to the paid one before you almost bought it? I bet the paid one was slower because of all those extra servers they advertise but never actually use. Companies know most people just see a flashy ad and click buy without testing what they already own. It's wild how much money gets wasted that way.
