Guy at the hardware store in Dayton asked why I carry two flashlights, and his answer made me think
Was in there buying batteries on a Thursday. Older guy behind the counter saw my pocket clip and asked about my setup. I said I keep a small one on me and a bigger one in the bag.
He said he carries a cheap AAA light in each coat pocket and one in the truck. Told me he got caught in a blackout at a Kroger in 2018 and his one nice light was at home on the charger. Said he'll never be down to one light again.
That stuck with me. I always thought one good light was enough. Now I'm wondering if I need a beater light stashed in the car and the bag.
What's your backup setup look like? Do you keep a cheap one somewhere just in case?

Cheap beater in the glovebox and one in the bag saved me twice.
