People keep buying fat chunky lighters for their pocket kit and then wonder why it digs into their leg all day
I've been carrying a plain slim lighter in my front pocket for about 8 months now and it weighs basically nothing, but every time a coworker shows me their new everyday kit it's got this big metal brick lighter in it that costs like $40. I get it, they look cool and they're windproof, but I tried one for a week at my job in Columbus and by day 3 my thigh had a bruise from it pressing into the seam. The whole point of a carry setup is that you forget it's there until you need it, and a half pound of metal in your pocket defeats that. I keep a cheap disposable one in the wallet pocket and a backup in my bag, done, total cost under $5. If I actually need a torch for camping I grab the big one from the garage, I don't lug it to the office. Has anyone found a middle ground lighter that's actually slim but still won't die in wind?
