Shoutout to the guy who sold me a 'working' snowblower on Facebook for $200

Got it home from Manchester, fired it up once, and the auger gearbox stripped out halfway through my driveway. Anyone else get burned by a marketplace deal that looked too good to be true?

The Manchester trip alone would've ticked me off, gotta say. But @tyler492 I kind of see it different. I actually prefer used tools because I know how to fix them, and I like the hunt for a good deal. Most of my gear is from marketplace or flea markets. I got a Toro snowblower for $150 a couple years back, had to rebuild the carb and replace a belt on it, cost me maybe $40 total and it's been a tank ever since. Yeah you got burned on that chainsaw but sometimes you just gotta factor in a repair budget and it still beats paying full retail.

Man I got burned on a marketplace chainsaw last year. Guy said it was barely used, ran like a dream, got it home and the carb was shot plus the chain was binding on the bar. Ended up spending more fixing it than I would have if I just bought a new one from Home Depot. The worst part is I drove like an hour each way for it too. Facebook marketplace is basically a gamble every time.
