Coupon stack fail at Target, cashier saved my order

I was at the Target on Roosevelt in Chicago last Tuesday, had like 4 different coupons lined up for laundry stuff and a big thing of detergent. One of the digital coupons didn't scan right and it took the total from $38 down to $31, but I thought it was supposed to be $26. The cashier actually paused, checked the app on her own phone, and found the store's price match policy hidden in the weekly ad. She re-scanned everything with the store card and I walked out at $24.50, which felt pretty good but also made me wonder how many times I've just accepted the wrong total. Has anyone else had a cashier go beyond to fix a coupon error like that?

That Target on Roosevelt is actually one of the better ones in the city, but I gotta say, the math in your post is kinda bugging me. If the coupons were supposed to bring it to $26, and the cashier got you to $24.50, that means she actually saved you more than what the coupons should have done, not just fixed the original error. So it sounds like the price match thing ended up stacking on top of your coupons, which is why it dipped below your expected total. That part might not happen again if you try to copy it, because store cards and digital coupons can be weird about combining. Still, it's a good reminder to always check the receipt before you leave, because I've caught similar mistakes just by standing at the counter for an extra minute.
