Just realized the clearance rack at my local Kroger in Plano beats every coupon app I have
I was walking through the Kroger on Legacy in Plano last Tuesday and saw a cart near the back with a yellow sticker on everything. Turns out they mark down meat and bakery stuff around 7pm on weekdays, and I grabbed a pork shoulder for $4.99 and a pack of rolls for 79 cents. The same shoulder was $14 a few days before. I checked my grocery coupon apps when I got home and they would have saved me maybe $2 on the full price. So now I am wondering if I should just skip the apps and time my trips to the markdown hour. Has anyone else figured out the exact markdown schedule at their store, or does it change by location?
Man that pork shoulder deal is wild. I bet if you go the same time every week for a month you'll figure out their pattern pretty quick, most stores stick to a schedule once the manager finds their groove. Might be worth asking the meat guy straight up too, sometimes they'll just tell you when they do markdowns.
