Serious question, why do so many Detroit networkers still hand out paper business cards?

I used to carry around a leather card case with 50 cards to every event. After I lost a stack at a Motor City meetup last fall, I switched to a digital profile with a QR code on my phone. Now I just pull it up in 2 seconds and people scan it right there. Has anyone else ditched paper cards or am I the only one who thinks they're dead weight?

Yeah I saw a study saying QR scans actually work better at events now.

My buddy runs a small print shop in Ferndale and says he still gets bulk orders for cards from old-school auto suppliers who don't even own smartphones.
