I finally got that stuck exhaust manifold bolt out after a whole day of soaking
My buddy's pickup had a seized bolt on the exhaust manifold, and we spent hours trying to break it loose. We soaked it in penetrant overnight, then used a torch and an impact wrench very carefully. It still took another few rounds of heat and tapping before it finally gave way. What's the longest you've had to wait on a single bolt, and any secrets for the really stubborn ones?

My old Jeep crank pulley bolt took a whole weekend of heat and wax.

Seriously, a whole day of soaking and it still fought back? That exhaust manifold bolt was on a mission. I had a similar one on my old truck that took three days of penetrant and two broken sockets before it budged. The secret for me was alternating between heat and letting it cool completely, seems to break the rust seal better. Glad you got it out, those jobs can test your patience for sure.
