Just found out some injectors are out of spec from the factory
I was reading through some Cummins technical bulletins last night and stumbled on a stat that blew my mind. Over at the shop in Racine, they found that nearly 1 in 12 reman injectors had a flow rate variance of more than 5%. That's enough to cause a rough idle and make your fuel mileage tank. Has anyone else tested injectors straight out of the box and found them off?

That "rough idle and fuel mileage tank" part really hit home for me. I had a 6.7 that acted up right after I put in a new set of reman injectors, and flow testing them showed three were off by 6% or more. Sending them back was a pain, but a quality bench test before install saved me hours of chasing a mystery.

Dude, that "quality bench test before install" part is spot on. I got burned the same way on a set of remans for my 7.3, just trusted the box and threw them in, and it idled like a tractor with a misfire for a week. Finally took them to a shop that flow tested them and two were way off, waste of a Saturday and a hundred bucks on gaskets I could have saved.
