Just realized my whole approach to color was wrong after a talk at the Portland Digital Arts Festival
The speaker said 'your palette is a character, not a costume,' which made me scrap my entire project file and start over with a strict 5-color rule. How do you guys usually limit your color choices to keep things focused?

My old mentor swore by a three-color system for every single project.

Swore by it" seems a bit much. benk26's car color point is right, sometimes you just pick what looks good.
