My art teacher said my best piece was the one I almost deleted, and I think she's wrong
I showed my old art teacher a digital piece I made in Procreate last month, a 4 hour study of a gas station at night, and she said it was better than the polished stuff I spent 20 hours on. She told me the rough one had "honest choices" and the clean ones looked like I was scared, which rubbed me the wrong way because I put way more work into the clean ones. Does anyone else think that "imperfect equals honest" thing is mostly a fancy way of saying you stopped trying?
