My hard drive dying taught me to never trust one save spot for art

I always figured saving to my computer was fine until the drive fried and wiped my whole showcase project. Now I save a copy to my external drive and dropbox after every edit session. It's a few extra clicks but saved me when my software glitched last time. Seriously, backup your stuff before you learn the hard way like I did.

Tbh that's the universe giving you the world's worst art lesson. Nothing like a dead drive to teach you about paranoia the hard way. Honestly the only thing it saved was your future self from making the same mistake.

Feel that pain, learned to back up everything twice now.

Maybe it's not that deep though. A dead drive is mostly just a pain, not some big life lesson. People act like losing some files changes everything, but usually it's just vacation photos and half-finished projects.
