A guy in a Chiang Mai cafe said get the 6 month visa, I got the 6 month visa, and I never left
A guy named Rob at a cafe on Nimman Road told me to just pay for the 6 month tourist visa instead of doing border runs every 30 days. I did it and it was right, but not for the reason I expected. I got way too comfortable, stopped moving around, and blew my whole "see 5 countries" plan on one city. Now I sit at the same table every morning. Has this happened to anyone else, or do you force yourself to move even when a place feels easy?
Rob's advice was about the visa, not about staying put, so blaming the 6 month stamp for blowing your 5 country plan seems off. I did the same visa in 2019 and still hit Vietnam and Laos because I booked the bus tickets before I got too comfy. Moving when a place feels easy is the whole point, easy is exactly when you stop noticing things.
