My laptop charger died in a cafe in Medellin and I had to get creative
It happened two days ago, right in the middle of a client video call. The charger just sparked and went dead. I had 18% battery left. I asked the cafe staff, but they didn't have a spare. I ended up buying a cheap universal charger from a local electronics stall for about $15, but it charges so slow I can barely work. Has anyone found a good way to carry a backup charger without adding too much weight to your bag?

Why not just use a power bank instead?

Had to get creative" is putting it lightly. Sparks flying in a cafe is a whole new level of tech failure. I bet that universal charger is putting out just enough power to make the battery icon go from frowning to slightly less frowning. Ever think about just getting a second, lighter official charger to keep buried in your bag for emergencies?

That "buried in your bag" charger is the real life hack, I've got one that's outlasted three phones.
